How to Play Bacc·Jack
A hybrid of baccarat and blackjack. You watch, you bet, you win — the dealer plays both hands.
The Idea
Bacc·Jack combines the spectator-style betting of baccarat with the hand mechanics of blackjack. Six seats, one Player hand, one Dealer hand each round. You don’t make playing decisions — the dealer plays the Player hand using the strategy chart printed on the felt. Your job is to bet on the outcome.
The Six Bets
PLAYER Pays 1:1 if the Player hand beats the Dealer hand.
DEALER Pays 1:1 minus 10% commission if the Dealer hand beats the Player hand.
TIE Pays 10:1 on an unsplit tie or both natural Blackjacks. Loses on every split round.
PBJ Pays 17:1 if the Player is dealt a natural Blackjack on the initial deal.
DBJ Pays 17:1 if the Dealer is dealt a natural Blackjack on the initial deal.
BOTH Pays 400:1 if both Player and Dealer are dealt natural Blackjacks on the same hand.
Side bets (PBJ, DBJ, BOTH) and the Tie wager all resolve only on the initial 4 cards. You must place a Player or Dealer wager to play any side bet.
How a Round Plays
Bets close. Once the dealer announces “no more bets,” chips can’t move.
Four cards dealt. Player gets two face up. Dealer gets one face up (the upcard) and one face down (the hole card).
Blackjack check. Any natural Blackjack ends the round here.
Player plays automatically. The dealer follows the strategy chart, using only the Dealer’s upcard. The hole card stays hidden.
Hole card revealed. Dealer flips the hole card and plays out: hit to 17, stand on 17+ (including soft 17).
Settle bets. Pay the winners, take from the losers, push the ties.
The Hidden Hole Card
This is the key difference from games where both dealer cards are face-up. In Bacc·Jack, the hole card stays a mystery during Player play — just like real blackjack. The strategy chart only sees the upcard, so a Player 14 versus a Dealer 8 always hits, even if the hole card secretly makes the Dealer 14. That hidden information is what gives every round a real reveal moment.
Splits
If the Player is dealt a pair and the strategy chart says SP, the dealer splits into two hands and deals one card to each. Maximum one split per round — no re-splits, including Aces. Split Aces get only one card per hand. Side bets and the Tie wager don’t pay on split rounds.
When a split happens, the Player and Dealer wagers settle as follows:

The Strategy Chart
The chart is printed on the right side of the layout. H means Hit, S means Stand, FD means Free Double, SP means Split. The dealer follows it exactly, every hand. There’s no judgment, no deviation, no adjustment to the count.
Free-Bet Double Down (Player Wager Only)
When the Player’s initial hand is a hard 10 or 11 and the dealer’s upcard is 2 through 9, the dealer places a promotional “free bet” chip alongside the Player wager — at no cost to the participant. The dealer then draws exactly one additional card and stands. If Player wins, the free-bet chip pays 1:1 on top of the original Player wager (a $5 bet pays $10 in winnings). If Player loses or busts, the free-bet chip returns to the house; the participant loses nothing extra. Tie pushes the original wager and returns the free-bet chip. This is the same mechanic licensed in Free Bet Blackjack and is purely promotional — the participant gets all the upside with no additional risk. Free-bet doubling applies only to the Player wager, and not to Dealer, Tie, or side bets.
Tips for New Players
Watch a few rounds before betting if the game is new to you.
The Player wager house edge drops meaningfully when the free-bet double is offered — about 1 in 18 hands, at no cost to the player.
Side bets are high-variance: lots of losses, occasional big wins. Bet small.
The scoreboard shows recent outcomes (P/D/T/BJ). Some players use it to spot patterns; statistically, each round is independent.
